Joseph Conrad as a novelist

Joseph Conrad is one of the great novelists of modern period. He was a Polish-British novelist and short story writer. He is regarded as One of the greatest writers in the English language though he did not Speak English fluently until twenties. He is known for the novels - Lord Jim, Nostromo and The Secret agent.

Joseph Conrad was born on December 3, 1857 in Berdychiv, Ukraine. He was educated at Saint Petersburg state university. Joseph Conrad moved to England and became a British Citizen in 1886. In 1895, his first novel Almayer's Folly appeared. His novels made him one of the influential novelists in 20th Century. 

Among his great novels are  - Almayer's Folly, Lord Jim, Nostromo, The secret Agent, The Heart of Darkness, Typhoon, Romance, chance, victory, An Outcast of the Islands, The Heart of Darkness etc. 

In his writings there are themes of social and political evil of his time. His novel "chance" was a study of loneliness and compassion. "Victory" his last novel contains theme of solitude and Kindness."The Secret Agent" novel is based on the corruption and manipulations of the European political institutions. 

From 1896 to 1904 Conrad wrote novels about areas he visited and accepted themes such as the uncertainties of human sympathy. Conrad's works contains elements of 19th century realism. His narrative style and anti-heroic character have influenced numerous authors. Many dramatic films have been adapted from his works.

Though he is no more in this material world but he is immortal among the readers. His contribution to the world of literature cannot be forgotten. He strongly influenced the authors of Coming generations. In short, He is one of the best literary figures in the entire world.
